TEDDY BEAR: Ages 6 - 36 months

Teddy Bear 1 (6-12 months)

Parent assisted class teaches water adjustment and basic water safety skills. Class introduces children to Cub Paddle- paddling and kicking with face in water while using floatation for 5 feet, and Cub Float- floating with assistance for 30 seconds.

Paddle Bear 1

For beginner students who learn basic water adjustment skills submerging eyes, nose, ears and mouth while swimming Cub Paddle- paddling face in water and kicking with floatation for 5 feet and Cub Float- floating on back with assistance for 30 seconds.

Paddle Bear 2

For students who have demonstrated the ability to submerge eyes, nose, ears and mouth. Students learn Bear Paddle swimming on tummy paddling and kicking for 10 feet, Kid Breaststroke- breaststroke arms for underwater swimming for 10 feet and Kid Backstroke- swimming on back with swooshing arms for 10 feet.

For students who have demonstrated the ability to swim Bear Paddle – swimming on tummy paddling and kicking for 10 feet, Kid Breaststroke- breaststroke arms for underwater swimming for 10 feet and Kid Backstroke- swimming on back with swooshing arms for 10 feet. Students learn Kid Freestyle- swimming on tummy and flipping to breathe for recovery, 40 feet, Jr. Breaststroke- underwater breaststroke arms and flipping to breathe for recovery, 40 feet.

For students who have demonstrated the ability to swim Kid Freestyle- swimming on tummy and flipping to breathe for recovery, 40 feet and Jr. Breaststroke- underwater breaststroke arms and flipping to breathe for recovery, 40 feet. Students learn Jr. Freestyle- freestyle arms with a flip breath for recovery, 80 feet, Jr. Backstroke- backstroke with slightly bent arms for 80 feet and Kid Butterfly- underwater dolphin kick arms on side for 40 feet.

PANDA BEAR: Ages 5 - 6

Panda Bear 1

For very beginner students who learn basic water adjustment skills such as submerging eyes, nose, ears and mouth while swimming Cub Paddle- paddling and kicking with face in water while using floatation for 10 feet and Cub Float- floating with light assistance for 30 seconds. Students also learn Bear Paddle -swimming on tummy with paddling and kicking for 20 feet, and Kid Backstroke- swimming on back with swooshing arms for 20 feet.

Students learn competitive Freestyle with side breath for 120 feet, Backstroke for 120 feet, and Jr. Butterfly- butterfly arms with flipping to breathe for recovery for 80 feet.

POLAR BEAR: Ages 7 - 10

Polar Bear 1

Students also learn Bear Paddle – swimming on tummy paddling and kicking for 40 feet, and Kid Backstroke- swimming on back with swooshing arms for 40 feet.

Polar Bear 4

For students who have demonstrated the ability to swim competitive Freestyle- with side breath for 160 feet, Backstroke- 160 feet, and Jr. Butterfly- butterfly arms with flipping to breathe for recovery for 80 feet. Students learn competitive Breaststroke- 300 feet and competitive Butterfly- 300 feet while continuing to build endurance in Freestyle- 300 feet and Backstroke- 300 feet.

For students who have demonstrated the ability to swim competitive Breaststroke- 300 feet, competitive Butterfly-300 feet, competitive Freestyle- 300 feet and competitive Backstroke- 300 feet. Students learn the competitive advantages of streamline swimming, sculling, competitive turns, and swim team practice structure. After completing this level students will be ready for swim team.

Black Bear 2

For students who have demonstrated the ability to swim Bear Paddle – swimming on tummy paddling and kicking for 40 feet, and Kid Backstroke- swimming on back with swooshing arms for 40 feet. Students learn Jr. Freestyle- 80 feet, freestyle arms and flipping to breathe for recovery, Jr. Backstroke- backstroke with slightly bent arms for 80 feet and Kid Butterfly- underwater dolphin kick arms on side for 40 feet.
