What has been your favorite swimming experience?
My favorite swimming experience was swimming with the dolphins while on a Disney Cruise. It felt wonderful and I can’t wait to go again!

What was a great teaching moment in your career?
When I first started working at Bear Paddle, I had a Teddy student who just wan’t having it. After 3 weeks, I was able to get a high five from them; week 4, I was able to get a few smiles during class. After about a month and a half, I was able to get smiles, high fives, and no tears when doing “zooms”. Months later, the parent stopped by the FD to let us know that they were in their family pool and she was floating, and using her kicks and scoops the whole time. Every time they go swimming anywhere, they are happy to let everyone know where they took lessons.

Who was your favorite swim figure / hero growing up?
I didn’t have one.

Why do you choose a career in aquatics over others?
Swimming is a life skill that everyone should know. By knowing even the basics, you can save your own life and help others as well.

Why do you like working at Bear Paddle?
I love kids and I get to embrace my inner-child with no judgment 🙂

What’s your favorite swim stroke?

What is your favorite moment at Bear Paddle so far as an SSM?
When I am able to hop in the water and give students that extra push, and provide homework to help them achieve those skills they seem to be struggling with.
