Is it safe to swim at Bear Paddle during COVID-19?
Taking lessons at Bear Paddle is safe. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated that people can’t get the virus from properly chlorinated, maintained pool water. Our swim school in Mason is taking several steps to keep pools clean during this pandemic.
We make sure that every pool has the right amount of chlorine and test pool water chemistry throughout the day. Additionally, our Ultraviolet Light Disinfection and Defender Filtration systems help us maintain our pools clean. We also disinfect every part of our facility and have hand sanitizers for everyone.
How can I keep myself & other students safe from COVID-19?
First, we advise wearing a mask, especially if you have colds. Families without masks won’t be allowed to enter our facility. Also, we recommend not attending classes if you or another family member is sick. By staying home, you’re helping us keep the virus from spreading in our swim school.
More importantly, please let us know if you or your child has had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. It’ll help us identify potential cases among our students. Lastly, we encourage you to follow our social distancing and one caregiver or parent per child protocols.
How do I enroll my child in any of your swim programs?
If you’re signing your kids up for our classes online, please visit the Bear Paddle website. We have a Parent Portal where you can register for swimming lessons. A Parent Portal account lets you see available classes, add students, and update your information. You can also call or drop by our school to schedule a swim lesson for your child.
How old should my child be to start learning swimming at your school?
Even if your little ones are only six months old, they can already start their swimming lessons at Bear Paddle. We also welcome toddlers and big kids to our other classes. Our beginner swim lessons suit kids of all ages.
How do I pay for lessons?
You can pay lesson fees through credit card, cash, or check. If you’re paying by credit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. We’ll start charging fees once you’ve scheduled your first day of swimming lessons.
What should my child bring to swimming lessons?
At the very least, your child must have a swimsuit and a towel. He or she can also bring goggles to class. If your little one is below three years old, he or she must wear a disposable and reusable swim diaper in class.
What if my child misses a swimming lesson?
We offer make-up classes Saturdays and Sundays of every week. Spots are on a first-call, first-serve basis. Should you need to schedule a make-up class, please inform our staff Tuesday or Wednesday of the upcoming weekend. Make-up classes cannot be booked beyond the current week and are subject to availability. Moreover, refunds for missed lessons will not be issued.
