Bear Paddle Swim School is a month-to-month year-round swim school offering 30-minute swim lessons for kids in Aurora, Illinois.

Personalized Swim Lessons

Bear Paddle serves students that have varying skill levels. We take beginners who still haven’t developed the necessary skill foundation to kids who are already adept in the water.

Our swimming lessons last for 30 minutes. During that time, your child will be guided and trained by our experienced swimming instructor. We’ve also divided our swim lessons into four classes:

Group Swim Lessons – Encourage learning how to swim alongside kids of the same age and skill level.
Semi-private Classes – We follow a buddy system to spark a little healthy competition between our students.
Private Lessons – Our one-on-one sessions are a great way to get personalized and comprehensive feedback from our swimming coaches.
Family Swim – This is free every weekend! You’ll join your child in the pool for family fun. This option is available for families who are actively swimming in weekly lessons.

Story-based Learning

Our swimming school in Aurora, Illinois, uses story-based learning that has proven to be extremely effective, as demonstrated by our previous students. This program is designed to be fun and captivating to ensure your child is having a blast while learning a valuable skill.

Our swimming instructor will first evaluate your child’s skill level to determine how their lesson will be structured. After that, they’ll start their swim classes either with a one-on-one session, with a swim buddy, or with a group.

As your child progresses, they’ll earn patches along the way to give them a sense of progression. They can get up to 26 patches in total. Once they have completed and acquired all the patches, they’ll be ready to graduate.

Swimming Lesson FAQs

If you have concerns regarding our lessons, schedules, or health protocols, here are some FAQs we compiled for your assurance:

How does Bear Paddle maintain each location's cleanliness?

Our maintenance and cleaning team disinfects each location regularly. These places and other on-site objects include door handles, tables, floors, benches, sinks, fixtures, toilets, and diaper-changing stations. Our caretakers also clean the shower stalls and changing stations after each use. We also provide hand sanitizer for all of our students. Moreover, the chlorinated water and ultraviolet filtration system offer complete protection for our customers and employees.

How does Bear Paddle maintain the cleanliness of their swimming pools?

Bear Paddle tests the water chemistry of pools before, during, and after every 30-minute shift. This way, we can guarantee compliance with CDC’s guidelines. In terms of disinfection, we use chlorinated water and ultraviolet light to kill 99.99% of disease-causing bacteria and viruses. Moreover, most of our pools utilize Defender Filtration systems powered with Diatomaceous Earth (DE) media.

Due to these filters, we can remove particles up to one micron. For better understanding, red blood cells are approximately 5 microns, so our disinfection systems provide a safe swimming experience for you and your family.

What does my student need to bring to swim lessons?

All students are required to bring a towel and a swimsuit. Students under the age of three are also required to wear a disposable or reusable swim diaper. While our facility is completely equipped with the necessary tools for all our swim lessons, children can choose to bring their own goggles if they want.
