  • Private Lessons – Our one-on-one sessions are a great way to get personalized and comprehensive feedback from our swimming coaches.

Safe, Kid-Friendly Facility

Bear Paddle is committed to providing our families and students a safe and clean learning environment. We follow strict and comprehensive health protocols within our swimming school, especially during the ongoing global health pandemic.

  • We perform temperature checks before entering our swim school. Anyone who shows signs of sickness will not be allowed to enter the premises.
  • Everyone on-site is encouraged to wear a mask at all times.
  • According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus cannot be transmitted properly in chlorinated water. Our staff maintains the pool’s chlorine levels and water chemistry at all times.
  • We also limit the number of people within our swimming school and reduce the number of students in a class.
  • Our swimming instructors conduct sessions in every other swim lane to lessen contact with other students.

Story-based Learning

Experience the Bear Paddle difference with our story-based swim lessons. We follow this curriculum to keep our students engaged and interested during class. See your child become a skilled and confident swimmer in no time.

Before students start their lessons at Bear Paddle, our swim coaches will assess their skill levels and put them in a class with other enrollees of the same age and skill set. This system encourages students not to feel shy or intimidated by more advanced swimmers.

Moreover, we give our students a Skill Patch Reward for every skill they have learned. There are 26 patches to earn which makes learning at Bear Paddle a lot more exciting. As soon as they get all patches, they are ready to graduate from our program.

Bloomingdale families love us!

Eva is the best. She is pure sunshine, you can tell she genuinely loves working with children. My son is on the shy side but not when he is with Eva, he has so much fun with her. Danny has come so far under her direction. I can’t say enough good things about Eva, she is awesome!

The staff are very friendly and they make sure that they give you a report about how your child is progressing and what they need to work on

Clean facilities and my daughter has become an excellent swimmer! She loves her teacher and the staff is very friendly. They are also very accommodating if you contact them ahead of time to reschedule a class that you can't make. Highly recommend them!

Swimming Lesson FAQs

If you have concerns regarding our lessons, schedules, or health protocols, here are some FAQs we compiled for your assurance:

Swimming at our school is completely safe. Bear Paddle is taking steps to ensure a clean, healthy environment for our students during the pandemic. We disinfect our various cleaning areas like diaper changing stations, showers, and changing rooms regularly. We always maintain our pool water clean and have hand sanitizers all over our Bloomingdale location.

You can start by wearing a mask during your visit. We won’t allow families without masks inside the school to keep everyone safe. Also, we advise against attending swimming lessons if you or your family members are sick. You can call our Bloomingdale location to reschedule your classes.

We also encourage you to let us know if you’ve had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. This way, we can identify possible cases and have them tested for the virus. Lastly, please follow our social distancing guidelines and our one caregiver or parent per child protocols.

Your child can start swimming lessons as early as six months old. Toddlers and older kids can still join our basic and advanced swim programs. Kids of all ages are welcome at our Illinois swim school.

Please visit the Bear Paddle website or call or drop by our Bloomingdale location to sign up for classes. If you’re registering online, you can go to our Parent Portal page and create an account. The Parent Portal lets you view class schedules, add students, and update your family information.

You can pay in cash, credit card, or check. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express cards for credit card payments. You can start paying for the classes after picking a date for your first swimming lesson.

Your child should have a swimsuit and towel for their lessons. They can bring their own goggles with them as well. Additionally, students younger than three years old should wear disposable and reusable swim diapers during class.

Let your kids learn how to swim during the time that’s most convenient for your family. Bear Paddle only allows changes in your child’s schedule in the first month of every quarter (January, March, June, and September). Should your child miss a lesson during this transition, we will gladly offer a Make-Up lesson. However, a fee will be charged if the transfer results in an extra lesson. These make-up classes are also on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you should reserve your slot if possible.
